A Twisted Story


Twisted Cuisine opened on February 28, 2006. At a time when her life was changing a bit, Rhonda Bell did some soul searching and discovered her two passions in life – Food and People. Rhonda went back to school to study culinary arts and shortly after opened her first restaurant. Originally the restaurant didn't have a name. It wasn't until Rhonda and the original chef were working on their first menu that they realized some of the flavor combinations were a little "twisted" - the rest is history.

July 2008 brought the biggest and best change to Twisted Cuisine when Rhonda finally took a meeting with some girl named Erica Buskirk. One of the staff members at the restaurant had a friend who was a trained chef, and had years of restaurant management experience. Rhonda didn't want to meet with her though, in fear that she couldn't offer a high enough salary to keep someone with such experience interested. After a little (or a lot of persistence) Erica got her meeting with Rhonda… and "Chef E" has been running the kitchen ever since!

The team has changed over the years, but Erica and Rhonda have a great business relationship and a strong friendship. The staff are like family, and so are the customers. While you'll find Rhonda working behind the bar most nights, every once in a while you'll catch her in back taking orders from Chef E. And some nights you may get lucky enough to strike up a lengthy conversation with Erica as she bartends or works on menu ideas at the end of the bar.

Twisted Cuisine's General Manager, Byron Baker, has been with the team for over five years. He started as a server and has worked his way to earning the title of manager. He oversees bar and waitstaff, and is at Twisted every night that the restaurant is open. You may remember Byron as the first person to win the title of "Best Server" in the very first Kenosha News "Best of Kenohsa County" competition a few years back. We think he is still one of the best, and he helps our whole team to be the best they can be.

New to the Twisted Cuisine Family is Zach Will. Zach joined the team in early 2014 as our Sous Chef. During the week, Zach is the one running the kitchen. His culinary influence can be seen in our newest Fall/Winter 2014 - 2015 menu and hs claim to fame is that he is the first person that Chef Erica has trusted with menu creations. Zach loves interacting with guests at Twisted Cuisine, and he loves hearing feedback. 

The Twistied Cuisine staff prides itself on knowing a lot about our unique menu. If you ask our staff what their favorite items are - they will be able to tell you because we all having dinner and try menu items when we make changes. Our team is knowledable about our community and we are proud to participate in a number of community events. We love having customers who are like family and above all, we THANK YOU for letting us serve you.
